Drinking: Sutter Home Chardonnay.

Upset that: Danny Phantom is only a half-hour show!

October 26, 2004   ::   Edna Valley WInery

Vinyard
This evening we (we being the folks at The Firm) had an anniversary celebration for two of the partners - 25 years for one and 20 for the other - at the Edna Valley Vineyard. It was a lovely party, as always. The food was fantastic, the company was wonderful, and of course, the wine was great! I almost didn't go. I don't know why. I always have a great time at these shin-digs, so I don't know why I continue to resist them. I need to figure out what my problem is, and then get over it! Cheers!

3. There's a total lunar eclipse Wednesday night - cool!

4. I got out of the final payment of my loan (I got the "loan" at the First National Bank of Mom with only 3% interest!), so I'm financially stable again!

5. And, just so I can start screwing that last one up again, I'm looking forward to picking up the new Simple Plan CD tomorrow!

October 17, 2004   ::   After the Rain

Backyard_1It ended up raining all night long!!! Today it's wonderfully cool and grey; a perfect day for enjoying a hearty bowl of chili and fresh baked cornbread muffin, which I'll be doing very soon. Happy Sunday!

October 16, 2004   ::   Rain

Dude! It's raining! Outside! Right now! Actual rain! Falling from the sky! I know they predicted it, but they've been predicting rain off and on for weeks now, and it's never happened. I didn't believe it would happen this time, either. We were supposed to get our street sealed today, but the guy came and said he didn't want to do it because of the rain. Said if it rained, all the stuff would wash onto our driveways, and not only would it be an aweful mess, but we'd have to spend the money to have it re-done. I thought he was just being a wimp. "It's not going to rain," I said to my neighbour. Thank God I was proven wrong! And, it's a really good, heavy rain, too. Not just the piddly little spitting we often get that's just enought to spot up the car, oh no! Real, live rain! Thank you, God!

October 7, 2004   ::   God Gave You (and Me) A Voice

I don't often talk about politics (mostly because my feelings and beliefs are almost completely 100% opposite that of many of my family, friends, and people around me in general, so no one really wants to listen to me or my opinions, and I'm tired of having to shout over the din.), however, I believe it is important that every American citizen 18 years old and older register and vote! And, not just in the upcoming general election, but every single time something comes up for a vote. It is important for this country that we not slack off on our duty, our right to have our voices heard.

Every time you decide to not vote on something, whether it's because you don't care, or don't understand the issue, or you don't think it concerns you, or you don't think your side will win, so what's the point? or you just don't have the time, or for whatever reason you decide not to vote, you're giving your voice away to someone else. Someone who may not see things the same way you do. Who may not share your feelings, your moral values, or your beliefs. Someone who may want to see this country go in a direction you don't want it to.

Personally, I don't care if you're a liberal Democrat or conservative Republican, an Independent, or Libertarian, or if you belong to the Green Party. I don't care how you stand on the issue of abortion, or family values, or the war in Iraq, or the economy, or taxes, or anything. You're an American, just like me, and I only care that you vote!

So, if you're not registered to vote, please do so as soon as possible. If you are registered - awesome! Don't forget to go vote on November 2nd!

Go Redeem the Vote for more information.

October 4, 2004   ::   Positively Monday

1. I had a great weekend wherein I got tons of sleep, got some cleaning done, and went to the Flea Market where I took several cool pictures.

2. I signed up for NaNoWriMo. Again. I haven't decided what to write yet (fanfic or real fic), but I'm really looking forward to it!

3. I'm feeling better than I have in a very long time - mentally, physically, and emotionally. I don't know why this is, but I'm certainly not complaining!

4. I've been picking out some really delicious fruits and veggies at the store lately. You know how sometimes you pick out an apple and it's woody or dry or just generally icky? Or the cucumber is bitter, or the radishes are too hot? Yeah, well, I haven't been having that problem lately.

Finally, it's October! While I love summer, I've been longing for fall - crisp, cooler temperatures, warm fuzzy sweaters, and steaming hot soup! Now if only the weather would cooperate, we could get this fall season under way! Cheers!
