Three Month Anniversary
Today is the three-month anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Is it really only three months? It really feels like it's been years. Seriously. I think back on this, and I know intellectually that it was only a few months ago, but it just feels like a lifetime ago. I feel so much older than I did in September.
My Christmas cards are nearly finished, and I just need to write my Christmas letter. I'm really stumped this year; I don't know what to say. Should I be upbeat, or restrained? Should I mention September 11, or not? Should I just act like nothing happened? My Christmas cards are sort-of patriotic themed, in that I used red, white, and blue in the colour scheme. I'm not sure I really want to go into it in my letter, though. I guess I'll just hit the highlights, and ignore much of what came after.
So, now I'm trying to remember what I've done this past year. It doesn't seem like much, but the time went by so fast, I must've filled the space up with something. Then again, I'm well known for filling up an awful lot of space with absolutely nothing, so chances are, that's what I did this past year.
I'm sure I'll mention the Family Reunion we had here in July, and the trip I took to Las Vegas with DeeDee, and might even mention redecorating my bedroom, but other than that, I can't think of much. Oh, well, I guess I only have to fill up one page, and I can just use a bigger font.
I got a fun survey that was passed around the office today, and thought I'd share it with you. You can find it here. Feel free to copy and paste, and pass it along.
In other news, the ants may be back. I recognized the scent as soon as I walked in the door last night: mint. We're using the poison-free ant spray by Martha Stewart, and it's mint scented. Apparently ants dislike mint. So the house smells minty fresh, and we live in dread of the little bastard's next appearance. If they show up anytime this week, they'll have the run of the place, as both of us are working. Oh, well.
Cheers!
